The control period for the proposed tariff is from January 29, 2012 to March 31, 2015, an official statement said. The levelized tariffs under various categories range from Rs 8.03 per unit to Rs 11.55 per unit, the statement said. The much anticipated petition for extension of control period for Solar Power Plants in Gujarat will be heard tomorrow. At least thirty solar project developers have decided to file a petition before the state electricity regulator to seek extension of the current tariff regime. Developers of close to 450 MW of solar projects fear of their investments of Rs 6,750 crore becoming unviable as they are not in a position to commission their capacities before December, a deadline set by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC). They have already roped in a legal expert for ‘mass-petitions’.
GUVNL will impose penalty per day on the projects to be commissioned after the deadline. Also, the late project developers will get less return in new tariff regime, which is expected to come in place from January 2012. It is learnt that developers will plead before the GERC to extend the deadline till March end and implement new tariff regime from April 1, 2012.
The hearing schedule of GERC, shows that it has scheduled hearing of one M/s. Hiraco Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. and one M/s. Sandland Real Estate Pvt. Ltd for this petition for tomorrow at 11:30.

A snapshot of the hearing schedule from the website of GERC is give below.
